Rise Project is a leading Romanian independent media organization known for its in-depth investigations into corruption and crime. The media collaborates with other organizations and international journalism consortia, such as the OCCRP (Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project). In addition to articles, Rise Project also publishes video investigations, organizes workshops, and maintains its own archive of dossiers on politically exposed persons (PEP).

Rise Project is an important source of information in Romania, contributing to increased transparency and the fight against corruption.

It was important to consider the needs of the target audience, which includes journalists, researchers, and ordinary citizens seeking verified information:

Design stage:

Conducted a competitive analysis of leading media organization websites, as well as competitor sites operating in the same informational space as Rise Project.
Based on the research and client’s preferences, we created a Sitemap that covered two main resources: the main Rise Project site and the open database of Politically Exposed Persons.
The next step was creating wireframes for the future site.
Following that, we designed the UI for both mobile and desktop versions, in accordance with the new visual style of Rise Project.

Development Stage:

Markup HTML for all main pages of the site and use CSS to style the main elements of the site;
Ensure the site is responsive for different screen sizes (mobile devices, tablets, desktops);
Create and implement feedback forms and integrate with Mailchimp for newsletter subscription;
Add interactive elements using JavaScript (jQuery), such as sliders, modals, accordions, tooltips, etc.;
Develop a custom theme for the site using the WordPress CMS and the WPML multilingual plugin;
Use the Gutenberg editor to create and edit content blocks;
Install and configure necessary plugins to enhance site functionality (ACF, SEO, security, caching);
Creation a user guide for the admin panel.
