CIReN provides support to professional journalists across Cyprus seeking an independent platform to pursue and publish work that exposes social, financial, environmental, political and institutional wrongdoing. Their stories appear here in English, Greek and Turkish, and where possible are translated in all three languages to reach the widest possible audience in Cyprus.

CIReN Client Request

Creation a business card website for the Cyprus Investigative Reporting Network project, which supports journalists investigating the activities of specific individuals and organizations. The website serves as a platform for publishing verified and reliable journalistic investigations.

The client’s request was to develop a simple website where one can learn about the CIReN project, read research articles, and have it available in multiple languages.

Features of work on the CIReN project

Creation of Basic Wireframes: Developed initial wireframes to outline the structure and navigation of the site.
Detailed Design in Figma: Designed all the website pages in detail using Figma.
Interactive Prototypes: Implemented interactive prototypes to showcase the website’s functionality and user experience.
HTML Markup and CSS Styling: Completed HTML markup for all main pages and applied CSS for styling key elements of the site.
Responsive Design: Ensured the website’s adaptability for various screen sizes, including mobile devices, tablets, and desktops.
JavaScript for Interactivity: Added interactive elements using JavaScript.
Custom WordPress Theme: Developed a custom theme using WordPress CMS along with the WPML plugin for multilingual support.
Gutenberg Editor: Utilized the Gutenberg editor for creating and editing content blocks.
Plugin Installation and Configuration: Installed and configured necessary plugins to enhance site functionality, including ACF (Advanced Custom Fields), SEO optimization, security measures, and caching.
